About Melissa
Licensed Psychotherapist
Melissa brings an integrative and holistic approach to therapy. She draws upon the most current evidenced based practices, nutrition, physical activity, and her professional and personal experiences. She has over two decades of experience in working with individuals and families in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, domestic abuse and homeless shelters, county contracted services, as well as private practice settings. In addition, Melissa has extensive group experience including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Integrative Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Anger Management, Meditation/Mindfulness, Domestic Abuse, and Co-occurring Mental Health & Substance Use Disorders. Melissa has also been involved in advocating for legislation on a variety of mental health bills.
Melissa received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota, and her Master of Arts from St. Mary's University. She is a Board Approved Supervisor for Master level students pursuing their LMFT licensure. Melissa is rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy through the state of Minnesota and is registered as a Parent Educator. However, her primary focus is with adults. She has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR , and Integrative Nutrition and Yoga for mental health.
When not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, her funny little corgi, Wesley and her cat, Jackson. Melissa brings compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness, and sometimes a little humor to her practice.
